The First Settlement

This is the oldest inhabited part of the island.
There was an old saw mill that the original inhabitants used to manufacture lumber for the village. In 1929 a hurricane damaged portions of the mill structure. It has been retired since. It is now, still in its partly damaged form, the picturesque station for The Great Escape, a flying coaster built in 2002.
The only other building that more or less was still standing when they started the restoration was the station building of Survivor, a side friction coaster from 1908. In 1954 the station was placed in the farmhouse, and a steak house restaurant on the upper level was added. The track was lengthened, adding the section that travels over and around the station building.

The station building of Roaring Rapids (1993) was an extension of the farm, originally housing livestock.
