The First Settlement

|
This is the oldest inhabited part of the island.
There was an old saw mill that the original inhabitants used to manufacture lumber for the village.
In 1929 a hurricane damaged portions of the mill structure. It has been retired since. It is now,
still in its partly damaged form, the picturesque station for The Great Escape, a flying coaster built in 2002.

The only other building that more or less was still standing when they started the restoration was the station building of Survivor, a side friction coaster from 1908. In 1954 the station was placed in the farmhouse, and a steak house restaurant on the upper level was added. The track was lengthened, adding the section that travels over and around the station building. |

The station building of Roaring Rapids (1993) was an extension of the farm, originally housing livestock. |
