Further down the track we pass through the Botanical Gardens and into a Dutch inspired train station located in Malang. I stay onboard for the next leg of the journey. A rainsquall is passing through so I’m glad to stay dry in the covered car. Just out of the station I spy the B&M sit-down called Flamboyan. Another note and another ride added to the list. We are now traveling into a mountainous region through several tunnels. As we escape from the cold we head across a vast expanse of water toward Bali. This area is home to the Ketchak Dance and a Hindu Cremation. Interesting names for rides that I’ll check out later. Next on the tour is Bandung with it’s Green Canyon Tour and Surabaya with the Knalpot. Adding these to the list we head on into Jakarta and the Batavia City Race. Passing through the capital we arrive back at the starting point. This has just been a cursory look at what adventures lie before me. At my age I must make a quick pause-for-the-cause and a snack (BRB) Much better, now back to my list.

I pass through the gates of Yogyakarta, Yogya, Jogja or Jogya. This area is known by any one of these names. I’m strolling through the scented Botanical Gardens and they are well-manicured and laid out. To my left is a scrambler called the Water Lily. I’ll have to pass on this one as spinning flat rides tear my stomach up. Finally, the first coaster of the day, the Flying Dogs. I remember an old Chinese proverb that states that people live like birds in the woods: When the time comes, each must take flight. Now is my time to take flight as I head toward the entrance.
