Moving on, I took a ride on the quirky Special Ops adventure - an inverted mouser that took me on a trip through battlezone-like settings. It was then, while whirling around a particularly tight corner, that I wasn't feeling up to the challenge of the Rock n Roll Coaster I knew was lurking in the enormous buildings nearby...instead I satisfied myself with watching some of my colleagues staggering down the exit path, heading for the nearest benches. A final, interesting show in the Hyperion Theatre, and the day was done. Heading back to the comfy hotel, I was looking forward to another day of fun in the resort's main area, Disneyland New York.

Bright and early next morning, with a continental breakfast sitting happily in my stomach, I once again made my way to the heart of the park, this time taking a beautiful tram ride to the main gates. There, a pretty Mickey Mouse logo was emblazoned in flowers; a quick ticket-showing later and I was standing on Main Street. Taking a right, I entered the cosy Edison Square, home to a replica Pirate Ship and Illuminations car ride. Back on Main Street, I took the cable car as far as the themed areas, deciding to first visit the jungly-looking Adventure Land. Woven roofs and wooden struts were the order of the day, putting me in mind of a small scale tropical paradise - even the leering tiki statues did nothing to dampen my mood. A quick look at the Enchanted Tiki Room led up to a trip on the Jungle Cruise. It was unfortunate, however, that the area's two main attractions were still under construction. I expect that in the future both rides will be a success with the visitors - what little of the theming I could see was very impressive!
